The Distributed Renewable Energy for Agriculture Modalities (DREAM) project supports the deployment of solar mini-grids that will provide reliable, affordable, year-round electricity to power irrigation for farmers, local communities, and more. When complete, DREAM will include the largest mini-grid powered irrigation system on the continent.

DREAM is composed of multiple stakeholders and implementing partners with the Ministry of Water and Energy as the lead, but with close collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Irrigation and Lowlands, the Agricultural Transformation Institute along with Keller-Bliesener as advisors. GEAPP Alliance partners that are part of the scale up of the project include: the World Bank, European Investment Bank and African Development Bank – Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa.
