Energy plays a pivotal role in shaping societies, economies, and the environment. As we navigate the transition from traditional fuels to clean energy, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership are essential pillars driving progress. Central to this journey is the Climate Leaders Network (CLN), a powerful partnership of three organizations namely International Financial Corporation (IFC), Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP), and Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). This initiative’s main emphasis is to amplify women’s leadership and visibility, aiming to drive collective action for sustainable practices and policies. Other important objectives are to accelerate this transition by leveraging partnerships, mobilizing resources, and fostering collaboration.
At the heart of the Climate Leaders Network lies a commitment to catalyzing entrepreneurship in the clean energy sector. By providing a platform for training, capacity building, and institutional support, the network empowers individuals—especially women—to embark on entrepreneurial ventures. Through mentorship programs and access to networks, emerging entrepreneurs gain the skills and connections necessary to navigate the complexities of the clean energy market.
Innovation stands as another cornerstone of the CLN’s mission. By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, the network fosters a culture of innovation aimed at developing sustainable solutions to pressing climate challenges. Through targeted workshops, training sessions, and collaborative projects, members of the network are equipped with the tools and knowledge to drive innovation in clean energy technologies, business models, and practices.
