GEAPP In India’s 1st Foundation Day

Panel Discussion on India’s BESS Ambitions: This session brought together industry experts like Amal Sinha (BSES Rajdhani Power Limited), Harsh Shah (Indigrid), and Anish Mandal (Deloitte South Asia) to delve into Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and their critical role in ensuring grid stability and enabling greater renewable energy integration.

Inspiring Leadership Keynotes: The event featured a keynote address by B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, CEO of NITI Aayog. Additionally, Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General of the International Solar Alliance, delivered opening remarks, addressing India’s green energy future and the importance of achieving national and sub-national energy transition goals.

Presentation on Advancing a People-Positive Energy Transition: Nidhi Sarin, Director of Policy & Regulatory for GEAPP India, delivered a presentation titled “Advancing People-Positive Energy Transition in India and the World,” outlining key strategies for an inclusive clean energy future.

Panel Discussion on the Path Forward: A second panel discussion explored the national and sub-national aspects of fostering a clean energy future. Government officials like Anshu Bhardwaj (NITI Aayog) and Deepti Mathur (Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.) joined representatives from NGOs like Mridula Pandey (Children’s Investment Fund Foundation) and Shoikat Roy (Punjab Development Commission) for a thought-provoking exchange.
