Supporting the drive for energy independence by enabling a green economy, accelerating renewables and storage solutions, enhancing energy sector digitization, and scaling clean tech innovation

Expression of Interest

The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, in partnership with a leading utility in North India, is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified manufacturers, system integrators and EPC contractors for the supply, integration and commissioning of a pioneering Sodium-Ion Battery Energy Storage System (Na-Ion BESS).

The pilot will demonstrate the potential of next-generation battery storage to strengthen distribution networks, improve grid reliability and support renewable energy integration in India.

The deadline for proposals has been extended to 4 September 2026.

Updated Timeline

To allow additional time for comprehensive responses given the emerging nature of sodium-ion technology, the EOI timeline has been revised:

Key Activity Revised Date
Proposer Questions – Round 2 22 August 2026
Response to Proposer Questions 26 August 2026
Proposal Submission Deadline 4 September 2026

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged. To ensure transparency, all vendor questions and responses will be published on the GEA India website for the benefit of all prospective participants.
