Mesh grids in Haiti

Haitians hand in hand with other Haitians are changing energy for good in the community of Cite Lucame in Anse Rouge.

In Haiti, GEAPP, the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank are working with Alina Eneji and OKRA Solar to scale 5,000 mesh grids across rural areas. Mesh grids present a faster, more cost-effective way to provide electricity in the country, meaning Haiti could be at the leading edge of the grid of the future.

Together, we are installing mesh grid technology which functions as a decentralised minigrid where houses are interconnected in clusters. This allows neighbours to share solar generated power.
