Renée Cutting announced as GEAPP’s Chief Partnerships & Philanthropy Officer

NEW YORK | February 18, 2025 — The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) today announced the appointment of Renée Cutting as Chief Partnerships & Philanthropy Officer. A proven leader with over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Cutting will spearhead GEAPP’s resource mobilization and strategic partnerships to accelerate clean energy access in developing economies while combating climate change.

“Renée Cutting brings exceptional expertise in building transformative partnerships that will advance our Alliance’s mission,” said Woochong Um, CEO of GEAPP. “Her leadership will be instrumental in scaling GEAPP’s impact across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean as we work to expand clean energy access, reduce carbon emissions, and create sustainable economic opportunities in underserved communities.”

Throughout her career, Cutting has demonstrated success in driving organizational growth and fostering strategic partnerships. At UNICEF USA, she played a pivotal role in doubling annual funding, while at the Legal Defense Fund, she significantly expanded fundraising capabilities. Her previous leadership positions include senior roles at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center.
