Kate Wills is Chief Communications Officer at Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) where she leads work driving the GEAPP story and mission to audiences across the world through global external and internal communications and campaigns.Kate brings to GEAPP over 25 years of experience working internationally with NGOs, the UN and social enterprises as well as in commercial media, PR and TV production. Her career has spanned working with Fairtrade, cocoa farmers in Ghana, partnering with UNICEF and Barclays to drive youth entrepreneurship in Africa, Asia and LAC, and running education, health and climate change campaigns through the World Cup and major reports with Comic Relief and Christian Aid. Before joining, she was Global Communications and Partnerships Director for Malaria No More where she led the Zero Malaria Campaign for the global malaria community driving a unifying brand and campaigns to bring together over 200 partners across the world working on Malaria and global health, including running 2 global summits which raised over $4bn each. Kate grew up in Malawi and Indonesia before returning to the UK to study International Relations and Development. She lives in London with her husband, two teenage children and many animals. Living with Stage 4 incurable Cancer sees Kate working as an advocate for a series of Breast Cancer Charities alongside being a trustee for the charity Lumos which works to end the harm of institutionalization and help children worldwide be reunited with family.
