Mukesh joined GEAPP from Smart Power India (SPI) and leads the Rooftop Solar for the Micro, Small, and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) program. He began his association with SPI as the general manager of Tara Urja (a Rockefeller Foundation-funded mini-grid developer) to transform and expand their mini-grid business. He led the creation of the first-of-its-kind data management system (MCOMS) that combines operations, customer relations management, and field data in real-time, allowing for seamless management of mini-grid operations. The suite has been adopted by several mini-grid developers.

Previously, Mukesh worked as head of finance and business development with Lybrate, a digital healthcare communication and delivery platform. This provided him with a unique opportunity to harness technology for business development. He also led the finance and sales operations planning for Asia at d.light inc., a for-profit social enterprise that designs, manufactures, and distributes affordable solar portable lights globally.

He is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA in Finance.
