Samit leads the country deliveries of DRE programs for the India region in GEAPP. He is also the MEL point of contact for the region. Samit has over 25 years of experience of leading business & rural marketing for consumer products, renewable energy solutions and social impact organizations. He has led on-ground operations for solar technology and off-grid solution providers such as Su-Kam Power Systems and d.light.

His in-depth understanding of the rural market and experience of handling large teams enabled SPI programs to be implemented effectively. In his recent role in Smart Power India, he headed the program development, implementation, and monitoring of all country programs. He has been instrumental in the scale-up of the largest portfolio of mini-grids in the world, and the roll-out of the rural rooftop C&I program. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics and a Master’s in Business Administration from Calcutta University.
