Soraya Walli

Strategic Project Lead, Africa

Soraya leads strategic projects within the Africa portfolio, working closely with the VP of Africa to set priorities, identify metrics for success, coordinate and implement initiatives. She worked for a year with the Power and Climate team at the Rockefeller Foundation in New York, USA before transitioning to GEAPP.
Prior to GEAPP she worked for over 3 years as a mini-grid and C&I developer in Sub Saharan Africa building, designing, and financing off grid energy systems for system sizes upto 1 MW. She has also lived and worked in Haiti for 2 years with a social impact enterprise to finance commercial scale solar, making renewable energy affordable and accessible.
Her experience lies in project development, management and strategy and has a particular interest in the nexus between energy access and economic development.
Soraya has a Master’s in Environmental Management from Yale University, USA and a Masters in International Relations and Economics from the University of St. Andrews, UK.
